Touching Penis; Does It Break Ablution (Wudu)? ~ Hi all readers! One thing that feels good for some men is touching penis. Some men do that, whether they realize it or not. The question is whether it can break wudu?
This discussion is very important for Muslims to know, whether male or female, because it is related to their holiness.
As usual, before answering the question above, I will quote the two hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad who did specifically talk about it.
Hadith About Touching Penis
The two hadiths about touching penis that I mean are as follows;
From Thaliq bin Ali radliyallahu ‘anhu, he said, “Someone has said, “I have touched my cock. “Or the person who has touched his penis asks, does he have to ablution?” The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “Truly that (penis) part of your body.” The hadith is narrated by five priests (Ahmad, Abu Daud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah).
عن بسرة بنت صفوان رضي الله عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : من مس ذكره فليتوضأ . أخرجه الخمسة
From Busrah bin Shafwan radliyallahu ‘anha, that Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “Whoever has touched his penis, then let him ablution.” The hadith is narrated by five priests (Ahmad, Abu Daud, at-Tirmidzi, an -Nasa’i, Ibn Majah).
All readers! If we look at the two hadiths above, we will understand that each hadith gives a different opinion about this issue; the first hadith says that touching the penis cannot break wudu, while the second hadith says that it can break wudu. So how do we understand it?
There are differences of opinion among experts on Islamic law about the law of touching penis. The difference of opinion I mean is as follows;
First; In Abu Hanifah’s opinion, that touching a penis without a barrier cannot break wudu.
Second; In the opinion of Ahmad, Malik, and Ash-Shafi’i, that if the touch is to use the inner palm of the hand or the tip of the fingers without a barrier, then that can cancel the ablution. But if it is done using the outside of the palm, then it cannot cancel the ablution. They argue, that the law contained in the first hadith that I mentioned has been deleted by the hadith law that I submitted last, which has been narrated by Busrah bin Shafwan.
That is a brief explanation of differences of opinion among experts on Islamic law on this issue. Now everything depends on us, we will follow whose opinions. Each of them has their own reasons.
Now, do you understand? The problem is simple and the explanation that I have conveyed is clear. So, I hope you understand.
I think that’s enough discussion about the legal status of touching penis; does it break wudu or not. If you want to ask, please ask!
I think that is enough for this article. May be useful! Amen!
See you again!
