Hi all readers! I guess we’ve all heard of tayamum. That is the solution for Muslims if they do not find water for wudu. There are many things about that that I will explain in this article.
Okay! Straight to!
As usual, before I explain more, I will first quote a number of hadiths relating to our discussion. Some of the hadiths I mean are as follows;
From Jabir radliyallahu ‘anhu, that Prophet sallallahu‘ alaihi wa sallam said, “I have been given five things which were not given to one Prophet before me; I have been helped by fear throughout the course of one month, the earth has been made a holy place of worship for me, so if the time has come for prayer to someone, then it is best for him to pray.”
وفي حديث حذيفة رضي الله عنه عند مسلم : وجُعلتْ تربتها لنا طهورا إذا لم نجد الماء
In the hadith narrated by Muslim from Hudzaifah radliyallahu ‘anhu mentioned, “The dust (dust of the earth) has been made holy for us if we do not find water.”
وعن علي عند أحمد : وجُعِلَ التراب لي طهورا
In the hadith narrated by Ahmad from Ali mentioned, “And dust has been made holy for me.”
There are several things related to several hadith above that we need to know;
First; Some of the hadiths above explain the superiority of Prophet Muhammad which was not shared by other Prophets.
Second; We are encouraged to express the blessings Allah has given us.
Third; Prayer can be done in places other than mosques, such as fields, gardens, roadsides with the conditions that these places are sacred.
Fourth; Tayamum is a solution for ablution if we don’t find water. There are differences of opinion among legal experts about this. Abu Hanifah said, “Tayamum allows us to do the obligatory prayers and recommended prayers as long as we do not have hadats, therefore there is an absolute solution.” Majority of legal experts argue, “That tayamum allows us to perform obligatory prayers and prayers are recommended. But we can’t use it to do two obligatory prayers. “
Fifth; Ahmad and Ash-Shafi’i said, “That tayamum can only be done by using dust.” The flow of Malikiyah said, “Tayamum, it can be done with everything including the part of the earth with the order that it is not burned.” Abu Hanifah and Muhammad “Tayamum can be done with all things including parts of the earth with the note that it will not become ash if burned and does not melt if heated.” Abu Yusuf said, “Tayamum should not be done except by using dust and sand.”
All readers! Thus, a brief explanation of tayamum as a solution to purify ourselves if we do not find water. If you have questions, please ask!
I think that is enough for this article. May be useful! Amen!
See you again!
