Quran, Hadith Qudsi, and Hadith Nabawi: A Basic Understanding

Quran, Hadith Qudsi, and Hadith Nabawi

Hi all readers! I have explained many Islamic topics by using the Quran and hadith (or hadith nabawi) as a reference. In this article I will explain the difference between Quran, hadith qudsi and hadith nabawi. These three things are very important references for Muslims. But unfortunately, not all Muslim people know about it. That's why I wrote this article. So, you have to read it to the end!

quran, hadith qudsi, hadith nabawi,

But, before I explain the difference between Quran, hadith qudsi and hadith nabawi, I want to say that we can find these differences if we know and understand the definitions of all of them. The definition of them are as follows;

The Quran is words that defeat, which is revealed to the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam with the intermediary Gabriel alayhi as-Salam.

The hadith qudsi is Allah informs the Prophet Muhammad of what He wants, sometimes through inspiration or dreams, and sometimes with the intermediary of Gabriel alayhi as-Salam, then the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tells his people by using his own expressions (words).

The hadith nabawi is all things related to the Prophet Muhammad, such as words, deeds or decrees.

Conclusion

All Readers! What I have explained above is the definition of the Quran, the definition of hadith qudsi, and the definition of the hadith nabawi. If we have known and understood it all, then at least we can conclude a number of things as follows;

  • Basically, both the Quran, the hadith qudsi, and the hadith nabawi are revelations from Allah. Indeed, in the definition of the hadith nabawi we find no explanation that it is a revelation. But you can find an explanation about that in the Qur'anic verse below;

Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination [3] It is not but a revelation revealed [4]. (An-Najm [53]; 3).

  • All the editors and meanings of the Quran come from Allah. The point is that Allah has determined it all. Gabriel then conveyed it to the Prophet Muhammad in a conscious state. And, the Prophet Muhammad then conveyed it to his people. So, the authenticity of the editors and the meaning of the Quran is guaranteed, because Gabriel and the Prophet Muhammad never changed it all!
  • The meaning of hadith qudsi is from Allah. Allah then told the Prophet Muhammad, who sometimes through inspiration, dreams and Gabriel. He then said it in his own words. Thus, the editors of the hadith qudsi come from the Prophet Muhammad!
  • All the editors and meanings of the hadith nabawi come from the Prophet Muhammad. But what we have to know is that everything he said was a revelation that came from Allah.

All Readers! That is a brief explanation of the difference between Quran, hadith qudsi, and hadith nabawi. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!

I think that's enough for this article. May be useful! Amen!

See you in the next article!
