Questions in Grave According to Islam

Questions in Grave

Questions in Grave According to Islam ~ Hi all readers! In the previous article, I explained the pleasure and torment in the grave. In this article, I will discuss the questions that will be asked by angels Munkar and Nakir to us in the grave. As Muslims, we must know this because with this knowledge we will be more careful in carrying out the destiny of our lives in this world. In addition, we can prepare everything for our supplies in the afterlife.

questions in grave according to islam, questions in grave, grave,

If we understand the previous article, of course we already know that life in the grave is a stopover before we all live eternally in the afterlife. We must believe that. All the actions that we do in this world will have a big influence on our lives in the grave. Everything we experience later in the grave will determine our destiny in the afterlife. This is like an interrelated and decisive link.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said;

Indeed, the grave is the beginning of a stopover towards the afterlife. If someone survives, then what happens after that will be easier. If he doesn’t survive then what will happen after will be more difficult. (The hadith is narrated by at-Tirmidhi in Sunan at-Tirmidzi, 2308, and Ibn Majah in Sunan Ibni Majah, 4567).

We can find information about the questions that will be asked by the angel Munkar and the angel Nakir in the grave in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad below;

From al-Barra’ bin ‘Azib, he said; We came out with the Messenger of Allah sallaallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam to deliver the soul of the Ansar. We arrived at the cemetery which turned out to be unearthed. The Prophet sallallaâhu ‘alaihi wa sallam then sat down and we sat down, as if on our heads there were birds. In his hand there was a stick which he hit on the ground. He then lifted his head up and said, “Ask for help to Allah from the torment of grave.” He said it until two or three times. [in the hadith narrated by Jarir there are additions] He said; Surely those who die will hear the sound of their sandals (those who deliver them) when they return, when asked to him; who is your God? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet? Hannad said; he (Rasulullah sallallaâhu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “He will be visited by two angels. The two angels will make him sit down and ask him, “Who is your God? He will answer, “My God is Allah.” The two angels then asked him, “What is your religion?” He would answer, “My religion is Islam.” The two angels then asked him, “Who is this man, who has been sent to you?” He then replied, “He is the Messenger of the sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.” The two angels then asked him again, “What made you know?” He then replied, “I have read us God. I then trust him and justify him.” (The hadith is narrated by Ahmad in, Musnad, 18063).

If we look at the hadith above, we will understand that there are differences of opinion about the number of questions in the grave. There are Islamic scholars who say that there are three; Who is your God? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet? But there are also Islamic scholars who say that there are four; Who is your God? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet? What are you doing? We do not need to debate opinions about the number of questions in this grave. in fact, there are also some Islamic scholars who say that the number of questions is six; Who is your God? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet? What is your book? What is your qibla? Who is your brother? For me, at least from differences of opinion about the number of questions, there are three which are the main questions; Who is your God? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet?

In the above hadith we find information about a corpse who was able to answer the questions asked by angels Munkar and Nakir to him. But what we need to know is that the verse is a corpse which when he was alive, he was a Muslim who obeyed the teachings of Islam so he died in the circumstances of Husnul Khatimah (a good death in Islam). Thus, people who during their lives did not want to follow the teachings of Islam under the Prophet Muhammad would not be able to answer the questions in the grave. That is because, once again, this is like an interrelated and decisive link.

Certainty about the existence of questions in this grave is the certainty that has been set by Allah Ta’ala to all of us. The conditions there that we will feel depend on what we have done in the world. Nevertheless, there are many hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad that tell about gripping the conditions in the grave. Among them we can see the hadith below;

Indeed, it has been revealed to me that you will get a trial in your grave like, or almost the same as, the trial with the coming of the ad-Dajjal. (The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari in, Shahiih, kitaabu al-‘Ilmi, 86).

I did not see a scene (which was bad) except that the grave looked worse than that view. (The hadith is narrated by at-Tirmidhi in, Sunan at-Tirmidzi, 2308, and Ibn Majah in, Sunan Ibni Majah, 4567).

There is a prayer that we can read to beg for survivors of torment in the grave. Below is one of the prayers recommended by the Prophet Muhammad;

O Allah, Verily I take refuge in you from the punishment of Jahannam, the torment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, from the ugliness of the trials of the ad-Dajjal.

Thus, a little review of questions in grave that will be conveyed by angels Munkar and Nakir to all of us in the grave in the future. Hopefully this article is useful. May we include servants of Allah who can answer these questions and survive the torment in the grave. Amen.

Hopefully useful and see you again in the next article!
