Prophet Muhammad’s Advice About the Importance of Finding Halal Livelihoods and Eating Halal Food

Hi all readers! In a number of previous articles, I have conveyed some explanations about the justice and goodness of the Prophet Muhammad. There are many useful things that we can get if we can imitate him in his justice and goodness. In this article, and a number of subsequent articles I will present about his advice for Ali bin Abi Talib. Of course, his advice contains tips so that someone can live peacefully in his heart. Therefore, as Muslims, we really need to know it.
Okay! Straight to!
Ali bin Abi Talib said, “The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam once called me. I am only with him in his house. He then said to me;
“O Ali! You are in my mind like Aaron’s position in the mind of Musa ‘alaihi as-Salaam, it’s just that there is no Prophet after me. Today I will have the will of your ship. If you look after it [The point is always to increase obedience], then you will live a noble life, you will die martyrdom, and Allah will raise you up as someone who is very religious.”
“O Ali! Whoever eats halal food, his religion will be clean, his heart will be smooth, and no veil will cover his prayer.”
“O Ali! Whoever eats food that is not clearly halal and unlawful, then his religion will not be clear and his heart will be dark. Whoever eats unclean food, then his heart will die, his religion is light, his faith will be weak, Allah will obstruct his prayer, and his worship will be few.”
“O Ali! If God is angry with someone, then He will give him rizki in the form of illicit assets. If the anger of God increased to him, then Allah would assign Satan to congratulate him, who would accompany him, occupy him with world affairs over religious affairs, facilitate world affairs for him, and say, “Allah is Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
“O Ali! It is not someone who goes by to look for ill-gotten property unless Satan will become his friend. He did not go by riding a vehicle unless Satan became the figure behind him. There is no one who has accumulated ill-gotten property unless Satan has eaten it. It is not someone who forgets to mention the name of Allah when he has sex (with his wife) unless Satan will accompany him in his child. That is the purpose of the word of Allah Ta’ala;
وَشَارِكۡهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ وَٱلۡأَوۡلَٰدِ وَعِدۡهُمۡۚ
…and share with them in wealth and children, and hold out promises to them… (Al-Israa’ [17]; 64).
“O Ali! Allah Ta’ala does not accept prayers without ablution and alms from unclean property.”
“O Ali! A believer always increases in his religion while he does not eat illicit goods. Whoever leaves people who understand the teachings of religion, then his heart will die and be blind so that he cannot obey Allah Ta’ala.”
“O Ali! Whoever has read the Qur’an but he does not justify anything that is lawful and does not forbid anything that is haram, then he is among those who dispose of the Book of Allah (Qur’an) behind their backs.”
All readers! That is the will of the Prophet Muhammad to Ali bin Abi Talib about the importance of making a halal living and eating halal food. Surely the will also applies to all the people of the Prophet Muhammad. Hopefully we are among those who can practice this will in everyday life.
I think that is enough for this article. May be useful! Amen!
See you again in the next article!
