Prophet Muhammad Is A Rich Man; A Best Explanation

Grace of Islam: Hi there! If you hear anyone say that Prophet Muhammad was a poor man, then believe that it is wrong! Prophet Muhammad is a very rich man. He has many sources of wealth. This is what I will explain in this article and the next few articles, Allah willing.

Indeed, there are many data that explain that Prophet Muhammad was often hungry. He tied several stones in his stomach to cover his hunger. Lots of historical data and hadith that explain that. But we must know, that all the data is a part of data that explains part of his life. There are many historical data and other hadiths that explain his wealth; from wherever he gets it all and for what he uses it all.

The first important point I want to say here is that Prophet Muhammad is the best example in all respects. He is the best example in ethics, worship, interaction, and so on. He is an example of the best husband, the best father, the best leader, and so on. He is the best example at work. He is a hard worker who is not lazy. Since childhood he was tending goats like the other Prophets. He is always successful in trading. There are many other things that we can sample from his life.

Then, what does all this have to do with the wealth of Prophet Muhammad?

Pay attention! What I have said above are some things that explain the riches of Prophet Muhammad. He has wealth from his goats. He got money from his merchandise. He is an example of a successful trader. That’s why he is famous as a person who is very skilled in trading. That’s why Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, his first wife, had told him to trade in Sham.

What else then indicates that Prophet Muhammad is a rich man?

Do you still remember that Prophet Muhammad came from Quraysh tribe? Do you know what the Quraysh tribe is?

The Quraysh tribe was a very well-known tribe with their expertise in trading. They are very successful in trading. In other words, the majority of them are rich people. Besides that, the Quraysh tribe was an ancient Arab tribe which guarded the Ka’bah where people performed the hajj. That is one of the advantages for them financially.

Do you still remember that Prophet Muhammad was the only child of the husband and wife of Abdullah and Aminah? When they both died, then their assets both belonged to Prophet Muhammad.

Do you still remember that Prophet Muhammad was the husband of Khadijah bint Khuwaylid? Khadijah bint Khuwaylid is a beautiful widow who is very rich. Many men who want to be her husband, but she chose Prophet Muhammad. When she dies, who gets her treasure? Prophet Muhammad and her family.

Do you know that Allah has given Prophet Muhammad the right to tax the land (al-Fai’) and the spoils of war (al-Anfal and al-Ghanimah)? The value is very much, not a little!
Do you know that Prophet Muhammad received many gifts from many kings? Imagine how much the prize is worth!

Do you know that when Prophet Muhammad married the widow, he also supported the widow’s child?

Do you know that all the wives of Prophet Muhammad were forbidden to marry after he died? What do they use to eat and drink if not from the treasure left by Prophet Muhammad?!

Do you know that there are many Quranic verses that explain that Allah has guaranteed the life of Prophet Muhammad financially? Consider the following verses;

وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلٗا فَأَغۡنَىٰ ٨

And find you in want and make you to be free from want? (Ad-Duha [93]; 8).

They ask you about the windfalls. Say: The windfalls are for Allah and the Messenger. So be careful of (your duty to) Allah and set aright matters of your difference, and obey Allah and His Messenger if you are believers. (Al-Anfal [8]; 1).

Whatever Allah has restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns, it is for Allah and for the Messenger, and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, so that it may not be a thing taken by turns among the rich of you, and whatever the Messenger gives you, accept it, and from whatever he forbids you, keep back, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is severe in retributing (evil). (Al-Hasyr [59]; 7).

That all explains that Prophet Muhammad is a rich man. He is not a poor person who invites his followers to live in poverty. That is what I will explain in the next few articles!

I think that’s enough for a brief explanation of the wealth of Prophet Muhammad. Look forward to interesting explanations of this theme in the next few articles! Allah willing.
See you again!
