Reference Center: Best prayer for people who do good to us ~ Hi all readers! As ordinary people of course we will never be separated from the goodness of others. Of course, there have been many people who have done good to us all along; they give us food, drinks, money, clothes, help, and so on.
Did you know that Islam strongly recommends that we do good to those who have done good to us. Maybe we are not able to give them goodness in accordance with the good they have given us. So, what’s the solution?
The answer is prayer. We can pray for those who have done good to us. That is what I will explain in this article. We can find an explanation about that in the hadith below;
From al-Miqdad radliyallahu ‘anhu, he said,” The Prophet (Muhammad) then raised his head to face the sky. He then prayed, “O my Lord, give food to those who have given me food, and give drink to those who have given me drink.”
The above hadith explains that the Prophet Muhammad prayed that Allah would give food and drink to those who gave him food and drink. Indeed, this specific hadith does not explain the obligation or suggestion that we pray for those who have done good to us. But understanding the hadith encourages us to do that.
The point of our discussion is that we are strongly encouraged to do good to those who have done good to us. We are strictly prohibited from doing bad to people who have done good to us. If we cannot give appropriate kindness, then we must at least pray good for them, as did the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
That is a brief explanation of the best prayer for people who do good to us. Hopefully this article is useful! Amen!
See you in the next article!
