Husband and Wife Bathing Together; What Islam Say?

Tolerance Center: Husband and Wife Bathing Together ~ Hi all readers! In this article I will explain about one thing about romanticism in the household. Even though I’m not married myself, but I know that it will make couples more romantic. Yup! As I wrote in the title of this article, we will now discuss Islamic law about bathing together. Even though it will add to the good for both of them, but does Islam allow that?

Okay! Straight to! As usual, before I explain this matter further, I will quote the hadith which is specifically related to our topic. Pay attention!

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت : كنت أغتسل أنا ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من إناء واحد تختلف أيدينا فيه من الجنابة . متفق عليه

From Aisha radliyallahu ‘anha, she said, “I once bathed with the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam in one container because of jinabah. Our hands are different in them.” The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

Janabah Bath; The Nice Explanation for Muslims

All readers! If we have understood the hadith above, then of course we already know, that Islam allows a husband and wife to bathe together. But the question then is, can both of them be naked or should they both cover their bodies? Honestly, I haven’t found any information about that. But, if I pay attention to some Islamic teachings about the obligation to keep eyes so that a Muslim does not see things that are considered filthy, then they should both keep their bodies closed, at least that can be done by covering the penis, vagina, and breasts.

I think, so that you understand the above hadith perfectly, I must explain here, that what is meant by the sentence, “Our hands are different in it,” in the above hadith, that the hand of the Prophet Muhammad and the hand of Aisha, his wife, alternately to take water. One hand takes water and the other hand splashes water into the body. That is the point.

In addition, we also understand that the above hadith explains, that Islam requires a married couple to maintain household harmony. The Prophet Muhammad did it with Aisha.

That is a brief explanation of husband and wife bathing together. Do you understand? The problem is simple and the explanation that I have conveyed is also clear. So, I hope you understand. But, if you want to ask, please! I am very happy if we can have a dialogue.

I think that’s enough discussion about the legal status of a married couple taking a bath together. May be useful! Amen!

See you again!
