Urgency of Good Ethics and Its Benefits According to Islam

Love Peace: Hi all readers! In this article I will convey about urgency of good ethics and its benefits according to Islam. This discussion is very important because good ethics have received little attention in recent times. We certainly already know what is meant by good ethics. Yup! It is a professional attitude in everything. What needs to be understood is that it is not an attitude to make everyone happy; there are certain limitations that regulate so that a behavior can be said to be good. In Islamic teachings there is a special discussion about that.

Islam’s concern about the urgency of good ethics and its benefits can be seen in the verses of the Qur’an and some of the hadith below;

And spend in the way of Allah and cast not yourselves to perdition with your own hands, and do good (to others); surely Allah loves the doers of good. (Al-Baqarah [2]; 195).

Nicest Person and Worst Person According to Islam

And how many a prophet has fought with whom were many worshippers of the Lord; so, they did not become weak-hearted on account of what befell them in Allah’s way, nor did they weaken, nor did they abase themselves; and Allah loves the patient. (Ali ‘Imraan [3]; 146).

(They are) listeners of a lie, devourers of what is forbidden; therefore, if they come to you, judge between them or turn aside from them, and if you turn aside from them, they shall not harm you in any way; and if you judge, judge between them with equity; surely Allah loves those who judge equitably. (Al-Maa’idah [5]; 42).

The messenger of Allah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “I am a leader in a house at the base of Heaven for people who leave debate even though he is right, and in a house in the midst of Heaven for people who do not lie even though he jokes, and in the highest house in Heaven for people who have good ethics.” The hadith was narrated by Abu Daud (4800).

He (Prophet Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “Someone of you that I like the most and the place closest to me on Judgment Day is the person who has the best ethics.” (2018).

He (Prophet Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “The servants of Allah who are most loved by Allah are those who have the best ethics.” The hadith is narrated by al-Hakim (4/441).

From Abu Hurairah radliyallaahu ‘anhu, “Allah’s Messenger sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam was once asked about something that could best put someone into Heaven. He then replied, “Faith in Allah and good ethics.” He was once asked about something that could best put someone in Hell. He then answered, “Mouth and vital organs (penis and vagina).” The hadith is narrated by at-Tirmidhi (2400), Ahmad (2/442), Ibn Hibban (2/224).

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam once advised Ali bin Abi Talib;

“O Ali! Indeed, with good morals someone will arrive at the degree of those who fast, who carry out the commands of religion, and those who fight in the way of Allah.”

All readers! If we understand the information above, then of course we can conclude a number of things as follows:

One; One sign that people have good ethics is if they are able to do good (Al-Baqarah [2]; 195).

Two; Another sign that a person has good ethics is if he is able to be patient when he gets a disaster (Ali ‘Imraan [3]; 146).

Three; Another sign that people have good ethics is if they are able to be fair (Al-Maa’idah [5]; 42).

Four; People who have good ethics will get a great gift in Heaven later Abu Daud (4800).

Five; The person who is most loved by Allah and the Messenger of Allah is a person who has good ethics, even he will be close to the Messenger of Allah on Judgment Day (at-Tirmidzi (2018), al-Hakim (4/441)).

Six; Good ethics can be one of the main reasons a person enters Heaven (at-Tirmidhi (2400), Ahmad (2/442), Ibn Hibban (2/224)).

Seven; Good ethics can make someone have a very high position (Prophet Muhammad’s advice).

That is a brief explanation of good ethics and its benefits according to Islam. May be useful! Amen!

See you again in the next article!
