As usual, before I explain the best Dhikr to stop bad speaking habits, I will first quote one hadith that is specifically related to our discussion. The hadith I mean is as follows;
From Hudhayfah radliyallahu ‘anhu, he said, “I once told the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam about the badness of my words, he then said, “Where are you from istighfar? In fact, I read forgiveness to Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla (ask forgiveness from Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla) every day one hundred times.””
Now, do you know what the best Dhikr is to stop bad talking habits in the hadith above? The dhikr is istigfar or ask forgiveness from Allah. Of course, there are many variants of istighfar sentences. We can choose one simple sentence variant for us to read easily, as below;

I ask forgiveness from Allah the Greatest.
