An-Nahr Day (Yaumu an-Nahri)

Hi all readers! Do you know what “An-Nahr day (Yaumu an-Nahri) is”? Do you remember Eid al-Adhah? An-Nahr day (Yaumu an-Nahri) and Eid al-Adhah are the same; two terms used to refer to one of the feasts for Muslims. This day is in the month of Dhul Hijjah. There are some important things that we should know about. So, you have to read this article to the end!

an-nahr day, yaumu an-nahri,

You should know that the meaning of the word “an-Nahr” is slaughter. The intention is that on this day Muslims are encouraged to slaughter livestock (camels, cows, buffaloes, or sheep). Then the meat of the slaughtered livestock is given to people in need. Thus, what is meant by An-Nahr day (Yaumu an-Nahri) is one of the big days for Muslims and there are some of them who are willing to slaughter cubic animals as I explained earlier.

What is meant by “al-Adhah” are livestock that is slaughtered on that day. Thus, “An-Nahr day (Yaumu an-Nahri) and” Eid al-Adhah “are the same. Muslims are encouraged to pray on that day. The prayer is called “Eid al-Adhah Prayer.”

Hadith About An-Nahr Day (Yaumu An-Nahri)

There are several hadiths about an-Nahr day (Yaumu an-Nahri) that I want to quote to explain this article. Some of the hadiths I mean are as follows;

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, “The most important day is an-Nahr day (Yaumu an-Nahri).” The hadith was narrated by Ibn Hibban.

It is narrated from Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam about animals being slaughtered (on an-Nahri day), “There is a reward in every feather.” The hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah and Ahmad.

From the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, he said, “Arafat Day, an-Nahr day (Yaumu an-Nahri), and at-Tasyriq days, are feast days for Muslims and days for eat and drink.” The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud, an-Nasai, and at-Tirmidhi.
