Islamic News: Hi all readers! In the previous article I have explained about things that we should not do when we are affected by disaster. There are huge consequences if we do that. In this article I will explain about obligations when we are affected by disasters. That is, there are also very big consequences if we do not do that.
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas radliyallahu anhuma, that in fact the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “The first thing written with al-Qalam in the Lawh Mahfudh with the command of Allah Taala is,” Verily I am God. There is no god but me. Muhammad is my servant, my messenger, and my choice of all my creatures. Whoever submits to My conditions, be patient when I get trials from Me, and give thanks for My blessings, then I will record him as a righteous person (Shiddiq), I will raise him with the righteous on the Day of Judgment, and I will put him in Heaven. Whoever is not subject to My conditions, is impatient when I receive trials from Me, and does not give thanks for My favors, then let him come out from under My sky and let him seek a god besides Me.”
Al-Faqih rahimahullah (may Allah bless him) said, “Patience when exposed to trials and remembering Allah when affected by disaster is one thing that must be done by humans. Actually, if he remembers Allah in that place, then that is a form of willingness from him to accept the provisions of Allah and demean the devil.”
Ali ibn Abi Talib karramallahu wajhahu (may Allah glorify his face) said, “There are three types of patience. First, be patient to obey. Second, be patient to leave disobedience. Third, be patient when exposed to disaster. Whoever is patient to obey, Allah Taala will give him one hundred degrees. Every one degree is the width of the distance between heaven and earth. Whoever is patient to leave disobedience, then Allah will give him one hundred degrees on the Day of Judgment. Every one degree is the width of the distance between heaven and earth. Whoever is patient when affected by disaster, then Allah will give him a reward that cannot be counted.”
All Readers! If we understand the brief explanation above, then of course we understand that the obligation that we must do when we are affected by disaster is to be patient. We must be patient when we are affected by disaster. It is a form of willingness to accept everything that God has determined. If we are able to do that, then we will get a lot of merits as I have explained above.
I think that’s enough for a brief explanation of the obligation when we are affected by disasters. Hopefully we can be patient when we face all the difficulties in life. Amen!
That’s all for this article. May be useful! Amen!
See you in the next article!
