What Is Allah Doing Right Now? ! Hi, dear readers! For Muslims, believing in Allah is a fundamental aspect of faith. This means that one’s faith is invalid without belief in Allah. In the series of foundational beliefs, faith in Allah comes first, followed by belief in angels, faith in the Prophets and Messengers of Allah, belief in the Last Day, faith in the books of Allah, and faith in Allah's decrees, whether good or bad.

The Importance of Believing in Allah

Some of you may be asking, "What is Allah doing right now?"

You should know that the question, "What is Allah doing right now?" is quite logical. Why is that? In my opinion, there are two reasons that make this question very reasonable and natural for Muslims to ask:

  1. Allah is God, and He is actively engaged in certain actions. In other words, He has responsibilities.
  2. What Allah is doing is an important topic in the study of Islamic theology.

Understanding the Question

So, what is Allah doing right now?

Before I explain that, there's an important point I want to make: the answer to this question varies widely. The key is that we need to understand what has been described in the Quran and the Hadith Qudsi regarding Allah's continuous actions.

However, this is not an easy task. We are required to read all the verses in the Quran and everything mentioned in the Hadith Qudsi about this matter.

What the Quran and Hadith Say

But you don't need to worry or feel confused if someone asks you what Allah is doing right now. Why? Because the Quran contains a verse that specifically describes what Allah is doing at this moment.

The Quranic verses that clarify what Allah is doing now are as follows:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

Indeed, Allah and His Angels send blessings upon the Prophet (Muhammad). O you who believe! Invoke blessings upon him and greet him with peace. (Al-Ahzab: 56).

Dear readers! If we examine the Quranic verse above, we can understand several things:

  1. This verse explicitly explains what Allah is doing right now.
  2. It describes what the angels are doing specifically.
  3. The verse contains a recommendation to invoke blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad.
  4. It highlights the virtue of sending blessings to the Prophet Muhammad.
  5. The verse emphasizes the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad.

So, if someone asks you what Allah is doing right now, the answer is that He is sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad.

The Virtue of Sending Blessings Upon the Prophet Muhammad

There are some additional important points I would like to explain regarding sending blessings:

  1. If the one who sends blessings is Allah, it means that Allah has bestowed mercy upon the Prophet Muhammad.
  2. If the ones sending blessings are the angels, it means they are praying to Allah to continually grant mercy to the Prophet Muhammad.
  3. If we send blessings, it means we are praying to Allah to grant us forgiveness and mercy through the Prophet Muhammad.

Now we know what Allah is doing right now. Furthermore, we understand why we are strongly encouraged to send blessings upon him, as both Allah and the angels constantly do so.

Specifically, we can understand why we are strongly encouraged to read Salawat through the following hadiths:

Hadith on Friday Salawat

The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said, "Whoever reads Salawat to me on Friday a thousand times will not die until he sees his place in Heaven."

Hadith on Forgiveness of Sins

From Abu Dharr, radliyallahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said, 'Whoever reads Salawat to me on Friday, all his sins from the past two hundred years will be forgiven.'"

Hadith on Daily and Nightly Salawat

Ibn Abi Ashim and ath-Thabrani narrated a hadith from Abu Kahil, radliyallahu anhu. He said, "The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said to me, 'O Abu Kahil, whoever recites Salawat to me three times every day and three times every night out of love and longing for me, it is a right of Allah to forgive all the sins of that person on that night and that day.'"

Dear readers! That's a brief explanation of what Allah is doing right now. Do you understand? If you have any questions, please ask!

I think that's all for this article. I hope it is useful! Amen!

See you again in the next article!

As a Muslim woman, reading this article has truly strengthened my understanding and connection to the present actions of Allah. It is a beautiful reminder of Allah’s continuous mercy and blessings, particularly the fact that Allah, along with His angels, is constantly sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This profound concept highlights how significant it is for us to also send blessings upon him, not just as an act of love and respect, but as a means to gain Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. I am grateful to the author for articulating this explanation so clearly and deeply.

The incorporation of relevant Quranic verses and Hadith adds a rich layer of insight into the importance of sending Salawat, especially on Fridays. The mention of the virtues and rewards tied to regularly invoking blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) really resonates with me. It encourages me to make Salawat a part of my daily routine, especially knowing that it leads to forgiveness of sins and brings us closer to Allah.

Thank you to the author for sharing this important reminder and for helping us strengthen our faith through such a simple yet powerful act. I will certainly reflect more on this topic and continue to strive to send blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). May Allah bless you for your efforts in sharing knowledge that benefits us all.
