What Is Meant by Hadith Qudsi?

If a Muslim asks you, "What is meant by Hadith Qudsi?" the answer is, "It is the word of Allah revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, either while he was awake or asleep. Sometimes, the Hadith Qudsi was conveyed to him through the angel Gabriel, who informed the Muslims using the Prophet's own words."

Specifically, we can understand the meaning of Hadith Qudsi in the explanation below:

The Hadith Qudsi is where Allah informs the Prophet Muhammad about what He desires, sometimes through inspiration or dreams, and sometimes through Jibril alaihi as-Salam. Then, Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam conveys this to his people using his own expressions (words).

That is the basic explanation of what is meant by Hadith Qudsi, which every Muslim should know.

What Is Special About Hadith Qudsi?

Allah Taala said, "I have divided the prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant gets what he asks for. When the servant says, 'All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all worlds,' Allah says, 'My servant has praised Me.' When the servant says, 'The Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate,' Allah says, 'My servant has glorified Me.' When the servant says, 'The Master of the Day of Judgment,' Allah says, 'My servant has exalted Me.' When the servant says, 'You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help,' Allah says, 'This is between Me and My servant, and My servant has what he has asked for.' When the servant says, 'Guide us on the straight path, the path of those whom You have favored, not the path of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who go astray,' Allah says, 'This is for My servant, and My servant gets what he has asked for.'"
