As usual, before I explain further about Nisfu Shaban and its virtues, I will quote some hadiths that are specifically related to our discussion.
Hadith About Nisfu Shaban and Its Virtues
The hadiths about Nisfu Shaban and its virtues that I refer to are as follows:
It is narrated that Allah, Azza wa Jalla, descends to the lowest heaven and forgives His servants, except for the polytheists and those who harbor enmity towards Muslims. This hadith is narrated by Ibn Majah (1390) from Abu Musa, may Allah be pleased with him.
It is narrated from Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, that he said, "On the night of Nisfu Shaban, Allah looks at all His servants and forgives them, except for two people: those who are hostile to Muslims and those who kill others." This hadith was narrated by Ahmad from Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both.
It is narrated from the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, that he said, "There are five nights during which prayers are not rejected." He mentioned the night of Nisfu Shaban among those nights.
